Why We Travel by Pico Iyer

At the beginning of Why We Travel by Pico Iyer, he mentions a reason for traveling is to understand more of ourselves, to learn about other places, to find positivity in travel. He uses contradicting words like "we travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves." I think this reason encompasses a lot of what resonates most with me. This makes me want to travel somewhere by myself, to explore, and experience all these things Iyer describes comes with traveling.

Near the end of the essay, Iyer starts to write about traveling as really any experience, such as a friendship or short trips to a candy store. This kind of traveling also resonates with me, as it describes traveling as an experience of seeing things differently, which is a part of everyday life. This resonates with me because it makes me want to experience life full of imagination and curiosity, to never stop traveling, as Iyer explains.
